94 year old man suffers multiple injuries after falling into construction works outside home

A 94 year old man was taken to hospital after he fell into construction works taking place outside his home. On Thursday, May 4, Bob Comery, of Mapperley, was leaving his home in Carlton and planning to walk to the local shop when his family say he tripped over a traffic cone.

Mr Comery lives in one of a set of bungalows which have a warden and are managed by Jigsaw Homes. This means residents are able to live independent lives and go about their days, but have access to support from staff 24/7.

The organisation had contracted the company J Tomlinson to repair the long front wall at the bungalows on Cavendish Road, and it was one of the traffic cones from this work that Mr Comery is believed to have tripped over - causing him to fall into the works. His son, Steve Comery, of Beeston, said: "He has got dementia and he is partially deaf and partially sighted.
