Here in the capital we have our fair share of architectural wonders, that is to say that our readers are wondering why they were built. Posting on the Edinburgh Live Facebook page, we asked members what they thought the ugliest building in the city is.

From aged hotels to ‘golden turds’, the responses were varied. We’ve rifled through the responses to give a shortlist of our readers' most hated buildings.
