The NBA awards are getting a makeover and a new name.
The Defensive Player of the Year? That’s going to be named after Hakeem Olajuown.
Same goes for Rookie of the Year (The Wilt Chamberlain Trophy), Sixth Man of the Year (John Havlicek) and Most Improved Player (George Mikan).
And the MVP? Yep, the GOAT gets his name on the Michael Jordan Trophy.
The new-look hardware was revealed on Tuesday, with photos showing players mostly encased in crystal except for MVP, which shows Jordan reaching for a crystal basketball.
