
The 8th Central Pay Commission has announced that it will hold interactions with institutions and organisations under the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the Ministry of Railways (MoR) in New Delhi next week.

In a statement posted on its official website, the 8th Pay Commission says it will hold meetings with Railways and Defence employee and pensioner bodies in New Delhi on May 13 and May 14, 2026.
Who should submit a request for an appointment with the 8th Pay Commission in New Delhi?Stakeholders, including the recognised unions and associations that wish to interact with the Commission, have been asked to request for an appointment through the official online form. The request must be submitted by Sunday, May 10, 2026. Applicants are required to provide the unique Memo ID generated after submitting their memorandum.
The commission said that details regarding the venue and timing of the Delhi meetings will be communicated later to the concerned participants.
When is the last date to submit the memorandum to the 8th Pay Commission?
The deadline for submitting responses has been extended from April 30, 2026, to Sunday, May 31, 2026.
"All entries must be made solely through the URL provided. The commission does not evaluate or entertain paper-based memoranda, hard copies, pdfs, or emails with the memorandum," says a statement from the 8th Pay Commission.
What is the memorandum that employee bodies can submit to the 8th Pay Commission?
The memorandum mentions pay, pension, allowance and fitment factor-related demands of an employee or a pensioner body. It also contains information about working conditions of employees.

Railway employee body demands a minimum pay of Rs 52,000
The Indian Railways Technical Supervisors' Association (IRTSA), which represents Railways technical employees, put forward its demands for the 8th Pay Commission (8th CPC) in a memorandum submitted last month.
IRTSA has asked for five fitment factors for different levels of employees, a minimum basic salary of Rs 52,600, an annual increment of 5% and a promotional increment that should be equal to two annual increments.
Dearness allowance for Railway technical employees
The Railway employee body says a separate consumer price index (CPI) should be prepared for central government employees, and expenditure items like internet expenses, bottled drinking water expenses, health insurance premium, etc., should be included in the expense basket to calculate the average reading for DA.
