LUCKNOW: Aimed at maintaining law and order, 86,000 central paramilitary force personnel and 1.5 lakh UP police personnel will be deployed in the fourth phase spanning across 10 districts comprising 59 assembly constituencies.

Moreover, 137 pink booths have been created where 277 women police will be deployed. Additional director general of police, law and order, Prashant Kumar said that as a preventive measure to avoid any disruption, over 10 lakh persons have been booked. The officer said that 142 FIRs have been registered in violation of election offences.

“As many as 1.56 lakh weapons have been deposited while 450 were seized. On the directions of EC, the air ambulance facility has been made in Lucknow for those on duty,” said Kumar. He said, “The C-Plan smartphone application will also be used to keep a tab on anti-social elements by linking 10 select people of each village with the DGP control room.”

“It will help in maintaining peace and order in villages and also in tackling the menace of fake information, as well as for disseminating correct information,” he said.
