8 times Prince Louis stole the show at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Prince Louis stole some of his great-grandmother's thunder this weekend, thanks to his cheeky expressions and exuberant behaviour.

The four-year-old drew a lot of attention wherever he appeared - from his first carriage debut on Thursday during Trooping the Colour, to his time at the Pageant on Sunday.

Waving at crowds, and pulling funny faces, his entertaining set of reactions - and distractions - captured on camera left people in stitches.

We've taken a look at some of his most entertaining moments during the last four days - which were for many, a refreshing reminder that even royal children are immune to the pomp and pageantry surrounding them.

The flypast

Royal fans were left in stitches at Prince Louis's reactions to the flypast - where he stole the show.

He was seen jumping with glee at the incredible display before covering his ears as the noisy planes roared overhead during the event that kicked off four days of celebration for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

He then waved up at the planes, before turning to his great-grandmother to ask a question.

His mother appeared to attempt to calm him down with a few calming words, as the Queen looked on adoringly at her great-grandson.

"Prince Louis is stealing the show," raved one fan. "Prince Louis screaming crying at the planes being too loud will undoubtedly be my favourite Jubilee moment," commented another.

Blowing raspberries at his mum

The four-year-old tried to cover his mum's mouth before blowing raspberries in an animated display during the Sunday pageant.

Kate Middleton, 40, was seen keeping a close eye on her youngest son - who upturned his nose with his thumb at her after growing restless.

On the last day of the celebrations, he was captured with a wide range of facial expressions before cheekily shushing his mum.

Enthusiastic dancing

Not content with staying in his seat, the young Prince was also spotted enthusiastically dancing, before pausing to eat a chocolate biscuit.

This combination endeared him to people at home watching the Pageant on television - who were left in stitches.

One wrote: "Prince Louis is stealing the show once again."

Another added: "This child is a joy to watch (probably a handful to parent!) but what a super little character he appears to be!"

Cheeky moment with Mike Tindall

Mike Tindall reminded Prince Louis he was keeping an eye on him from the second row in a sweet exchange.

Louis pulled more than a few expressive faces as he watched the pageant with his family, who did their best to keep him entertained.

Former England rugby player joined the four-year-old in pulling funny expressions - and gestured to Louis that he was keeping watch, which left Kate chuckling.

Sitting on his grandfather's lap

Prince Louis shared a touching moment with his grandad Prince Charles after he became restless during the Jubilee Pageant and wandered over.

The Future King Prince Charles rocked the cheeky four-year-old from side to side as he sat on his knee and they watched the show.

But he swiftly returned to his mother - and was seen standing on top of his chair to get a better view.

Over-enthusiastic waving

The three young royals beamed as they waved to well-wishers - but it seems Prince Louis may have been a bit over-enthusiastic.

Seven-year-old Charlotte, dressed in a cornflower blue dress, could be seen pushing down her brother's hand after a particularly enthusiastic bout - but his arm quickly popped back up.

Overhead photos also show her holding her little brother's hand during the trip, supporting him through the massive occasion.

His expressions over the last few days

In general, the young Prince's expressions have left people delighted.

The four-year-old was seen at various times cocking a snook, placing his hands over his face, and clenching his fists. He reacted with wonder at every event - and left people on social media in stitches.

One fan wrote: "Prince Louis being iconic as always."Another dubbed his facial expressions "legendary" while a third added: "He deserves his own meme section. I can't [deal] with how expressive his face is."

Quizzing queen

The enthusiastic four year old couldn't stop himself from quizzing the Queen during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations, a lip reader said.

He was photographed exchanging a few words with his great-grandmother as they awaited the planes and helicopters to fly overhead.

And a lipreader has told the Mirror what the pair appeared to be talking about - and it seems Louis was eager to know one thing.

According to Jeremy Freeman, an expert in lipreading, Louis asked: "Are the Red Arrows coming?" To which the Queen very dryly replied: "I hope so."

When the Red Arrows did show up and painted the sky red, white and blue, Louis' excitement seemed to peak after Mr Freeman says the youngster exclaimed: "Yes yes yes."
