Mylar comic book sleeves are the gold standard for protecting comic books. The Library of Congress uses Mylar film and sleeves to protect historical documents. Mylar, a transparent form of polyester, is considered an “archival quality” product. If you use Mylar correctly to protect your comics, then they should last for a lifetime. However, Mylar is pricey. Still, there are many affordable comic book sleeves that are just as good as Mylar.
