As inflation continues to drive up grocery prices, trips to the grocery store are becoming prohibitively expensive for many. A 2025 survey of registered voters conducted by GQR for The Century Foundation revealed that working-class Americans are having to make difficult tradeoffs due to price increases. Nearly two-thirds of those surveyed switched to cheaper food or bought less food in the past year.
