Following the Philadelphia 76ers’ 125-99 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night, the Sixers’ official X account used a throwback font to share the final score of the game, but it quickly became the butt of never-ending jokes on the social media site.
Philadelphia 76ers’ official X account intended to post the word “final,” but the font choice placed the letters closer together
In a post that has since been deleted by the 76ers, the team used a retro theme font to match the squad’s classic jerseys worn for the Clippers game. However, it didn’t take long for many Sixers fans to notice that the word “final” in the graphic looked like “anal.”
At first glance, the top half appears similar to every other standard graphic a team would post after their game ends. But an unfortunate font theme places the “F” and the “I” close enough together to create an entirely different word.

Since the graphic was posted on X, many fans within the NBA community have pointed out the poorly shaped word on the final score image and laughed it off.
According to TMZ Sports, one user in the comments posted, “Uh, might want to find a different font for ‘FINAL’ next time,” while another added, “font choices matter.”
The 76ers’ post was deleted early Monday morning.
Philadelphia dropped to 3-13 and 14th in the Eastern Conference
More importantly, it was yet another lowlight for an injury-riddled Sixers team, which is now 3-13 (.188) and 14th in the Eastern Conference standings. Philadelphia opened the season as a strong betting favorite to win the conference.
NBA betting sites now show the 76ers with 12th-best odds (+3500) to win the championship, after they’ve dropped six of their last seven games. The Boston Celtics (+265) and Oklahoma City Thunder (+500) lead all other teams.
The Sixers played again Sunday night without injured All-Stars Joel Embiid and Paul George, both out with knee injuries. A few more days of rest could allow Embiid (left knee swelling) and George (left knee bone bruise) to return Wednesday against Houston.
According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index (BPI), the 76ers are currently projected to finish 37-45 (.451) and eighth in the conference. Philadelphia also has a 52.3% chance to make the playoffs.
