74-year-old Ohio woman sues hospital for amputating her left leg. Surgery was supposed to be on her right leg

A 74-year-old Ohio woman, an Army veteran, has both legs amputated below the knee as a wrong operation removed the wrong leg, and then, to correct that, she had to undergo another amputation. Sharon Jacks filed a lawsuit this month in Washington County Common Pleas Court in Marietta, Ohio, claiming that her left leg was amputated at Selby General Hospital in September 2025 while the surgery was meant to remove her right leg.
