A Missouri elementary school student crashed a school bus into another school bus after the driver allowed her to sit behind the wheel as part of an emergency procedure demonstration, according to a report.

The incident happened at Three Trails Elementary School in Independence, Missouri, when a bus driver was reportedly trying to teach students what to do in an emergency if the driver became incapacitated.

When no one volunteered, the driver asked 7-year-old Alannah Cheffen to sit in the driver's seat, resulting in the crash, Fox 4 reported.

"I was blown away. It was actually my child that was instructed to be behind the wheel of a bus," Alannah's mother, Ambrosia Holt said, according to the outlet.

No injuries were reported as part of the crash. However, parents and the community expressed concern over whether it was appropriate to allow a second grader to operate a school bus full of kids.

Local police were not notified of the accident and parents only heard about it through their kid's stories and some school communication.

The district has not announced if the driver will face any disciplinary action or legal consequences.
