PEDESTRIAN.TV has teamed up with Paramount+ to bring you up to speed for season two of Last King of The Cross.
Australia’s gritty crime drama Last King of The Cross is back for season two, and it’s here to up the ante. Considering season one was filled with gruesome murders, shady drug deals and spicy scenes, fans are gonna love what’s coming up.
Season one finished with nightclub owner John Ibrahim (Lincoln Younes) wanting to wash his hands of the Cross and mourning the death of the love of his life. His main enemy, kingpin Ezra Shipman (Tim Roth), was out of the way and his brother Sam Ibrahim (Claude Jabbour) was headed to prison. So really, there shouldn’t be any drama left, right? Ha. So wrong.
The first two eps of The Last King of The Cross season two are available to stream on Paramount+, and I’m not kidding when I say it launches you straight into the thick of the action from the very first frame.
From lives on the line to thugs storming the Cross to rob John at gunpoint, season two will have you hooked.

The season kicks off with a flash-forward, so we’re chucked straight into an adrenaline-filled moment. John is frantically driving to the hospital while getting updates on a mystery person’s condition — he’s been shot four times and is fading fast. Will he survive, and whose life is at stake? With cops hot on his heels, John makes it into the Emergency Department just in time to see the patient flatline.
John Ibrahim fails to keep a low profile in Ibiza

John’s wild hairstyle could almost make the list on its own (he hasn’t gone to a barber for months, apparently), but what he gets up to in Ibiza is outrageous. The crime lord is clearly unable to relax and just chill while hanging out in Spain. Instead, he’s having a fling with a bar manager, but she’s in deep with a thug called Mateo who is “well connected”.
John and Mateo get into a full-on brawl in the kitchen, because violence is always the answer in this universe. He’s soon thrown into a Spanish prison and beaten badly before deciding to head home to Sydney.
Prison hasn’t curbed Sam Ibrahim’s extortionate ways

Meanwhile, Sam has created his own gang in prison and is going around demanding payment from other inmates in exchange for not being beaten up. It’s not exactly a fair trade.
At one point, when a fellow inmate tries to hide his contraband, Sam forces the unlucky bloke to eat an entire block of soap before beating the hell out of him. I reckon Sam’s gonna have to watch his back, because he’s making a bunch of enemies on the inside.
Kings Cross is a ghost town causing John Ibrahim to make a drastic change

The turning point of season two is when John realises Kings Cross is completely dead. After new alcohol laws and the Royal Commission looking into the shady business deals of The Cross, there aren’t any customers. Only his faithful strip club manager (Heidi May) and bodyguard Tongan Sam (Uli Latukefu) are there waiting for him, so he sets his sights on a new turf: Oxford Street. It’s not going to be easy though, because the Oxford Street nightclub owners aren’t going to want newbies stepping foot in their territory.
John Ibrahim waltzes into LDT and demands Ray Kinnock sell up

Somehow, John has the confidence to walk into LDT, Australia’s biggest club on Oxford Street, and demand the owner Ray Kinnock (Naveen Andrews) sell up. This is bonkers behaviour because Ray basically runs Oxford Street and he’s not here for John’s games.
John offers $2.5 million cash for the nightclub, but Ray won’t sell for anything less than $5 million. In an attempt to drive the price down, John gets his henchmen involved to cause chaos at the club.
Benny Vasquez’s thugs try to take out John Ibrahim

Benny Vasquez (Matuse) is one of the most unpredictable characters of the lot, so whenever he’s involved you just know something’s about to go down. He’s joined forces with Ray to try and prevent the sale of LDT, but gets wind of John pulling together $1.8 million cash in some dodgy black bags. Benny gives the order to his men to shoot both John and his bodyguard.
Luckily, the cops have been staking out the area and young cop Katie Larsen (Bella Green) realises something’s going down. She breaks cover and foils the plan, saving John in the process. There’s also some sexual tension going on between Katie and John, so it’ll be intriguing to see how she battles her attraction… seeing as she’s supposed to be trying to lock him up.

The new assistant manager of LDT happens to be John’s friend Simone (Janet Anderson), and she gifts him intel to help him get his claws into the nightclub. At the end of episode two, John waltzes into LDT and drops a bombshell: he has break-even sheets showing Ray has been faking the club’s finances.
John convinces Ray’s business partners to sell him 50 per cent of LDT for just $800K, and throws in a threat to Ray not to pull any dodgy moves on him in the future. Considering how furious Ray is, I don’t think this is gonna be the end of their clash.
I’m intrigued to see how the vibrant backdrop of Oxford Street changes the vibe of the show, and once Sam gets out of prison, there’s bound to be more chaos.
