Here are the seven items you can’t return at Sam’s Club.
1. Gift Cards and Prepaid Cards
Buying discount gift cards and prepaid cards at Sam’s Club is a great way to save money — but all sales are final. Keep that in mind next time you purchase a card you plan to use yourself or to gift.

2. Tickets
Sam’s Club sells discount movie tickets as well as discount tickets to local attractions. These can be a great deal, but they cannot be returned.
3. Collectibles
Any item considered to be a collectible is final sale. If you’re not sure if something qualifies as a collectible, ask your local sales associate before buying something that can’t be returned.
4. Trading Cards
All trading card purchases — even if they are unopened — are considered final sale.
5. Custom-Made Items
If you purchase any personalized gifts or photos, you’re stuck with them. Sam’s Club doesn’t accept returns of these items.
6. Purchases Made Through the Sam’s Club Wholesale Trading Program
Sam’s Club offers a special Truckload program that enables businesses to bulk order things like water, coffee, catering supplies, cleaning supplies, paper goods, office supplies, snacks and even flowers. These large-scale orders are not eligible for returns.
7. Prescriptions
Much like custom-made items, prescriptions are filled just for you and can’t be resold. All prescription orders cannot be returned at Sam’s Club.
Other Limitations Vary by Club
In addition to these items, there are some items that may or may not be returnable based on your local club’s policies:
- Beer, wine and spirits
- Automotive tires and batteries
- Cigarettes and tobacco
- Eyeglasses
- Hearing aids
Check with your local Sam’s Club if you have questions about these returns.
Be Mindful of Return Windows
Most items that are returnable can be returned at any time. However, be mindful of the following return windows for specific categories of items:
- Within 90 days: Electronics and major appliances
- Within 30 days: Commercial heavy equipment and motorsports items
- Within 14 days: Cell phones (prepaid, postpaid and no contract)
