There is a moment in the Sundarkand when Hanuman does not return to Ram with a treasure, a victory trophy or a demand for praise. He simply returns after completing an almost impossible mission. Yet what happens next reveals something much deeper about devotion, courage and humility. When Jamvant tells Ram what Hanuman accomplished, Ram’s heart fills with joy and he embraces Hanuman. This beautiful scene also connects with the famous Hanuman Chalisa line, “Sahas badan tumharo jas gavai, as kahi Shripati kanth lagavai.” The real question is, what made Hanuman’s achievement so extraordinary that even a thousand mouths could not fully describe it?
