7 of the best Rangers celebration pictures from joyous Hampden scenes to emotional Connor Goldson moment

Rangers' week just got even better after they backed up their Europa League quarter final win over Braga with a Scottish Cup semi final triumph over Celtic at Hampden.

The pressure was on to end the dominance of their greatest rivals and ensure the Parkhead club wouldn't win a fifth domestic treble in six seasons.

When it comes to season defining weeks, Gio van Bronckhorst can hold his head held high after two victories on the bounce.

With the latter the first time the Dutchman has got one over Ange Postecoglou 's side since taking the Ibrox hot seat.

Record Sport takes a look at some of the best snaps taken with Rangers on the cusp of Scottish Cup glory for the first time in 13 years.

The full-time whistle

This image tells the story of contrasting emotions.

James Tavernier looks absolutely ecstatic while Jota has his head in his hands as he reflects on a disappointing day for the Parkhead club.

Joyous scenes

For the first time in what seemed an entirety Celtic and Rangers fans were split equally at Hampden.

However it was the blue half who had big smiles on their faces come Bobby Madden's whistle to signal full-time of extra time at Hampden.

Nobody wanted to leave the national stadium as they sang their managers name.

Sharing the moment

Connor Goldson's Ibrox future might be in doubt as contract talks continue to stall.

But Rangers centre-back cherished a family moment as he went over to greet his family after the match.

That one will have felt good as it sets up a May 21 final which could may well be Goldson's final game for the club.

A relieved man

Van Bronckhorst had never tasted victory over Celtic as a manager.

And that facial expressions when the final whistle blew just shows how much that victory means to the Dutchman, who has come under criticism for the Gers Premiership title defence in recent months.

Lapping it up

Calvin Bassey was tasked with a less familiar centre-back role alongside Goldson and didn't look out of place despite Celtic plethora of attacking talent.

He couldn't help but lap up the celebrations at full-time.

Game changer

Scott Arfield (SNS Group)

Scott Arfield answered Van Bronckhorst's call by coming off the bench and producing an equalising goal to send the game to extra time.

You can just see the sheer joy in the midfielder's face when that ball went in Joe Hart's net.

Family fun day

There is nothing better than sharing such joyous moments with members of your family and this appears to be the case here.

This youngster can barely believe what he's just witnessed and if this is a mother and son moment then it's one they won't forget in a hurry.
