7 notable names trying to qualify for the 2023 U.S. Open, including Michael Block and … a 13-year-old

They call it Golf’s Longest Day for a reason.

It’s June 5, the day when hundreds of golfers hoping to qualify for the U.S. Open by playing 36 holes at courses around the country. Dreams of playing a major alongside golf’s best players are either dashed or fulfilled, and for some PGA Tour — and LIV — vets, it’s a chance to play in a major they otherwise wouldn’t qualify for.

So let’s review some of the big names and interesting stories of players trying to qualify for the tournament that will take place at Los Angeles Country Club in a couple of weeks:
