AI can draft a report in seconds, summarize a meeting, and answer questions that once required a stack of reference books. Yet it still struggles with a leaky pipe hidden behind a wall, a frightened patient who cannot explain what hurts, or a child having a spectacular meltdown in a grocery store.
That gap explains why some careers look more resistant to automation than others. The jobs AI struggles to replace often involve unpredictable environments, physical dexterity, human trust, or decisions that carry real consequences. Technology will change these occupations, but changing a job is not the same as eliminating it.
