The engineer, who has around five years of experience in the industry, recently shared on Reddit that they are struggling to choose between two nearly identical opportunities: a Software Development Engineer 2 (SDE2) role at Amazon offering ₹66 lakh per annum and a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) position at Salesforce with a package of ₹65 lakh per annum.
While the salary difference is negligible, the decision has little to do with compensation. Instead, it reflects a growing concern among tech professionals: finding a workplace that offers stability, predictability, and protection from burnout.
