6 Windrose tips and tricks for the early game
Use Tents before fighting

Fights in the early game can often get you killed. To save time and energy, always carry enough Wood and Plant Fiber to build a Tent. Before heading into a POI or an encounter, place the Tent and set the revival point. This way, if you die, you get back into the action much faster.
After leaving the area or the island, break the Tent and take the resources with you. When you come back home, remember to set the revival point there, so you don’t accidentally end up on the other side of the world.
Manage stamina in combat

Windrose is a soulslite game, featuring dodges, parries, and pretty strong enemies. Every move that you make consumes stamina, and running out of stamina in the fight leaves you vulnerable to damage. In the early game, two or three hits can kill you, making managing your stamina extremely important.
When fighting, be patient and don’t overextend (unless you’re well above the enemy’s level). Land a few hits and step back, especially when fighting multiple enemies. Take advantage of the Rested buff and invest in Endurance to improve stamina and stay in the fight longer.
Cook food to improve stats

Cooking in Windrose is mandatory when exploring and fighting enemies. Food increases maximum health and boosts certain stats for a limited time. The rarer the food, the more health it grants and the longer it lasts.
You can have up to two food buffs at a time, regardless of the effects. This allows you to greatly increase your health when fighting against multiple enemies or bosses, like Captain Thomas Richards.
Make plenty of Healing Potions

Another important consumable in Windrose is Healing Potions. Alchemy unlocks during the early steps of the main quests, and while there are many different potions for you to experiment with, always bring at least 5-10 Healing Potions when exploring, unless you want to rely solely on Tents to get back into the fight.
Loot POIs for loot and XP

The world of Windrose is filled with points of interest for you to explore. They are marked on the map with question marks and can range from Traveler’s Camps and Ancient Ruins to Shipwreck Sites and Blackbeard Outposts.
Points of interest often contain resources required for crafting and new types of gear. Looting POIs also awards XP, and may occasionally begin a side quest to get even more rewards and XP. Outside of doing the main quests and improving your base, take your time to explore them.
Bring a Fast Travel Bell

Sailing from one island to another takes considerable time. To make adventures faster, place Fast Travel Points as you explore the world and always have at least one Fast Travel Bell in your inventory. You can place up to nine Fast Travel Points, but there are also Fast Travel Points at hubs like Tortuga and faction outposts.
Remember that you can teleport to any Fast Travel Point while at the ship’s helm and out of combat. If you explored the location and don’t plan to return, use this feature instead of building a Fast Travel Point.
