But it seems like our wonderful region is also loved by Hollywood actors and music royalty who have paid a visit to various places.

Below, we've compiled a list of places around the North East that have become celebrity magnets.
Allendale
Residents of this Northumberland village lost their minds back in 2019 when Hollywood actor Jude Law was spotted in Allendale.
He reportedly visited the village's Co-op store which is an unsuspecting celebrity magnet that has seen a number of famous faces pop in for some milk.
Actor John Levene, who played Sergeant Benton in the original Doctor Who series, and Game of Thrones star Jerome Flynn are both said to have paid a visit to the Co-op.
Newcastle's Quayside
In Newcastle city centre, the Quayside is a popular place to visit with its stylish bars and restaurants.
And it seems like it's a popular place for celebrities too after Hollywood legend Harrison Ford was spotted on Newcastle Quayside during a break in filming the new Indiana Jones film.
The 79-year-old actor previously surprised customers at The Ship's Cat by calling into the popular haunt by the coast last summer.
Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo also paid a visit to the Quayside back in October to visit his new restaurant INNSiDE hotel saying he "always liked" our beautiful city.
Gusto
One of those popular Quayside spots is Gusto where Ben Stokes and wife Clare celebrated her 30th birthday with a surprise party following a meal at nearby Babucho.
Ex Love Islander Harley Brash was also at the Quayside Italian as it turned 10 in March 2020.
Bamburgh
Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg was said to have been spellbound with the beauty of our region when he visited Alnwick and Bamburgh.
It was in September 2016 when the Ted actor joined the cast and crew filming Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster Transformers: The Last Knight in Northumberland.
And while here, the A-lister took advantage of the sunny weather to tee-off at Bamburgh Castle Golf Club.
Tup Tup Palace
Tup Tup is one of the most popular haunts in the city and has an endless list of celebrities that have called in.
Drake, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Ed Sheeran, Jess Glynne, Ricky Hatton, Alesha Dixon, Professor Green, and Girls Aloud have all paid a visit to name a few.
And last year, TV star Katie Price joined her Geordie Shore pals Chloe Ferry and Scotty T there.
Livello
Livello is the place that led to Floyd Mayweather calling Newcastle the 'vegas of the UK' after partying there after his 'Evening With' event at Gateshead's Lancastrian Suite.
The Newcastle United team headed to the Side spot after winning the Championship in 2017, after first enjoying some celebratory drinks on the rooftop of The Vermont.
Then in 2019, two of the Spice Girls headed there after their sell-out gig at Sunderland's Stadium of Light, bringing support act Jess Glynne with them.
