Comic Con returned to Liverpool today and thousands of people went all out to dress up for the event.
People travelled from around the country to visit the convention. Comic Con is a huge celebration of sci fi, comic, tv and film culture, with cosplay a huge part of the event.
Before the doors opened this morning, there was a large queue outside the Exhibition Centre where it was being held. The ECHO met people in the queue including a woman dressed as Neytiri from Avatar, including two-hours’ worth of face paint.

There were also people dressed as characters from Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas and The Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus. Many people said they were up early - some as early as 5am - to get Comic Con-ready.
Inside, props and set displays from much-loved franchises such as Stranger Things, Cobra Kai and The Inbetweeners. There are also trade stalls, which sell everything from replica props, clothing and toys to original artwork and more.
Among the celebrity guests appearing at the event are Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, as well as Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson in the hit Netflix series. The event continues tomorrow at Liverpool’s Exhibition Centre and limited tickets are still available at TicketQuarter .
