Liverpool will have been watching Jude Bellingham at the World Cup and wondering just what the tournament will do his price tag.
When the Borussia Dorrtmund midfielder opened the scoring in the Three Lions' opener against Iran his stock would certainly have gone up, only for a frustrating display in the goalless draw with the USA.
Such is the life of a footballer on the market and at a major tournament.
Truth be told, the Reds have always been wary of increased interest in Bellingham, as they very rarely become involved in bidding wars for players and wouldn't have any intentions to here.
Jurgen Klopp and his transfer team might well be tempted to look elsewhere then.
The Reds, like all major clubs, will have scouts at virtually every game in Qatar keeping an eye on the best and brightest of midfield talent, but who would have caught their eye?
Here's a look at who could just be on the Anfield radar ahead of the January transfer window.
Mohammed Kudus (Ghana)
The Reds would already have been acutely aware of the talents of the Ajax and Ghana midfielder after he scored a stunning goal at the Kop end in the Champions League this season.
In Qatar he's been operating as a deep-lying attacking force for a Ghana side who look full of goals at both ends, scoring five times across their two games but then also conceding five too.
Kudus can operate in a variety of positions, including in a midfield three, and his all-action style could just be exactly what Klopp is looking for.
Adrien Rabiot (France)
Rabiot is no stranger to the transfer rumour mill, or indeed to links with Liverpool.
The Reds have been one of a host of clubs said to be admiring his abilities in the past, and although he does indeed have a lot of those abilities there has always been something about him that flatters to deceive.
As it stands he'll be available again on a free transfer in the summer when his Juventus contract expires, and given that he is showing a bit more leadership and maturity then could he be an ideal, cheap addition?
Moises Caicedo (Ecuador)
Linked with Liverpool before the tournament began, the young Brighton midfielder is also said to be attracting interest from Manchester United.
That is no surprise given that he possesses the almost perfect profile for a Premier League midfielder, with his youth - he only turned 21 this month - only adding to the exciting package.
Ecuador will take on Senegal on Tuesday looking to progress to the last-16, and Caicedo is sure to be key to that effort.
Yunus Musah (USA)
The New York-born former England youth international only turned 20 on Tuesday, and that makes his ability all the more frightening.
Musah was on the books at Arsenal as a youngster, and whomever was responsible for letting him go in 2019 must be watching his displays in Qatar and wondering just what on earth they have done.
The Gunners' loss was Valencia's gain, and after breaking into the first-team there in 2020 he hasn't really looked back.
He 's also picked up 21 senior international caps, and was superb against both Wales and England here.
Enzo Fernandez (Argentina)
He only came on shortly before the hour mark in both of Argentina's two matches, but Benfica's Fernandez certainly impressed in both.
Against Saudi Arabia the 21-year-old was at times leading the charge to try and ensure his side avoided an embarrassing defeat, while against Mexico he sealed a 2-0 win with a brilliant second goal late on.
He wouldn't be cheap, and he only joined Benfica in the summer, but Liverpool have a great relationship with the major Portuguese clubs and might consider a move too good to turn down.
