Stacking wins, as Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin put it is exactly what Pittsburgh did by beating the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night. Pittsburgh improved to 2-1 and after starting the season 0-1 is in a three-way tie for the lead in the AFC North. Here are our big takeaways from the win.

This defense is all about big plays

This defense is going to give up some yards. This is the reality of it. But when you can get three interceptions and four sacks, it won’t matter so much.

The offensive line tried something new (old)

It was great seeing the Steelers offensive line utilizing double-team blocks on the interior to help open up running lanes. It wasn’t perfect and Najee Harris didn’t always help but progress is progress.

Pressley Harvin redemption game

Pittsburgh’s special teams came up huge and no one was better than Harvin. Six punts for a 53.8-yard average is his best game as a pro and that last punt was textbook.
