Five-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams is nearing his commitment date. Williams plans to commit on Sept. 23. The Texas A&M Aggies are favored to land a commitment from the talented receiver.
Williams ranks as the nation’s No. 19 player overall in the class of 2023. Williams is the second-ranked receiver in the nation and the No. 4 recruit in Florida. The Georgia Bulldogs offered Williams in January 2021.
The elite five-star recruit will decide among Miami, Alabama, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M and Georgia.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound wide receiver plays football and basketball for Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Williams spoke with Kristian Dyer of RutgersWire regarding his recruitment in January. He has built a strong relationship with the Georgia coaches.
“Georgia, man. They just won the national championship. And actually, before they even won, I mean, they were doing great with me – like I was talking to them throughout the year. I have built a great relationship with them before … with coach [Dell] McGee, coach (Kirby) Smart I built a really great relationship with them. And, man, they just had a great season this year.”
Williams also spoke about the recruiting pitch he has received from the Georgia coaches.
“They just tell me how they will use me if I come over there. And honestly they could just keep it rolling if I go there because right now they’re on a great path. So if they can develop me to where I want to be … then we can just keep rolling.”
Georgia football has two commitments from wide receivers in the rising senior class. Smart and company are looking for one or possibly two more to join the class of 2023.
