Five-star linebacker recruit Justin Williams committed to the Georgia Bulldogs over the Oregon Ducks.
Williams is high school teammates with four-star Georgia commitment Joseph Jonah-Ajonye. The dynamic defensive duo plays high school football together for Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, Texas. They plan to play together at the next level.
Justin Williams is the No. 1 linebacker in the 2024 cycle and the No. 3 recruit in Texas. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker is ranked the No. 11 player in the 2024 recruiting cycle. Williams runs track and has excellent speed.
Williams’ recruitment was a battle between the Georgia Bulldogs and Oregon Ducks. Ultimately, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart and co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann beat Oregon head coach and former Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning to land Williams.
Georgia has a very strong recruiting pitch for linebackers due to the Dawgs’ recent success on the field and in the NFL draft. Additionally, Georgia’s dominant 49-3 win over Oregon last year gave the Bulldogs a boost.
Georgia recruited the linebacker position at an elite level in the class of 2023 and is off to an excellent start with the 2024 recruiting class.
The Bulldogs hold one other commitment at the linebacker position, five-star Demarcus Riddick. However, Riddick is making an announcement regarding his recruitment later this week.
Justin Williams announced his commitment to Georgia football via Twitter:
