The traditional “honey-do” list assumed a simple arrangement: One person noticed the loose cabinet hinge, squeaky door, overgrown bushes, and dripping faucet. The other person grabbed the toolbox and got to work.
That arrangement still exists in plenty of homes, but it no longer fits every household. Men work, parent, clean, cook, schedule appointments, manage finances, shop for groceries, and handle plenty of chores that rarely involve a screwdriver. Meanwhile, some once-familiar home projects have moved from the weekend toolbox to the contractor’s invoice.
