As the June 1 cuts have come and gone, the Miami Dolphins have over $13 million in cap space to spend for the remainder of this year, some of which, will be carried over to next season.
They also still have to sign second-round pick Cam Smith, who’s the lone member of the 2023 draft class who’s yet to be signed.
When it comes to salary cap maneuvers, the Dolphins have been near the top of the league. General manager Chris Grier and cap guru Brandon Shore have done an exceptional job making sure that every dollar is accounted for, so the team has the flexibility to make necessary moves.
That’s why it’s no surprise to see that Miami has the seventh-fewest dead cap space heading into mandatory minicamp. These five players, despite not being on the team anymore, are still costing them over $8 million.
