5 free agents worked out for the Seahawks on Tuesday

The Seattle Seahawks hosted several free agents for workouts yesterday, according to the NFL’s transactions report. The list includes a couple of wide receivers, a pair of running backs and a quarterback.

Here’s a look at who came in on Tuesday.

QB Anthony Brown

The quarterback was Anthony Brown (6-foot-1, 228 pounds), who played his college ball at Boston College and Oregon. He went undrafted and got signed by the Baltimore Ravens last year and went on to start one game while Lamar Jackson was injured. He threw for 302 yards, but no touchdowns and two interceptions.

WR Tavon Austin

The biggest name of the bunch is Tavon Austin (5-foot-8, 179 pounds) who used to give the Seahawks fits as a part of Jeff Fisher’s Rams teams. Before that Austin played with Geno Smith at West Virginia and he has worked out with Smith during the offseason. All together, he’s appeared in 113 games, totaling 244 catches, 2,239 yards and 16 touchdowns.

WR Cody White

The other receiver Seattle brought in was Cody White (6-foot-3, 210 pounds). After his time at Michigan State, White went undrafted and was picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He appeared in 16 games with them, posting six catches and 35 yards on offense but putting in more time on special teams.

RB Darrell Henderson

The other former Ram that the Seahawks worked out was running back Darell Henderson (5-foot-8, 208 pounds). He played for Memphis in college then was picked by the Rams in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. From 2019-2022 he appeared in 50 games for LA, totaling 1,742 rushing yards on 396 attempts (4.4 yards per carry) and scored 13 touchdowns.

RB J.J. Taylor

The other running back was J.J. Taylor (5-foot-6, 185 pounds) who played his college ball at Arizona, then went undrafted. Over the last three seasons he appeared in 12 games for the Patriots, totaling 156 yards and two touchdowns on 52 carries.
