4WD repeatedly rammed into another car while merging, police allege

The driver of a Nissan Patrol allegedly rammed another vehicle repeatedly, at one point with such force it dislodged items from its roof racks, police allege.

Police say they are looking for witnesses to what they described as a road rage incident that happened on Ellenborough Street, Lyneham, about 3.20pm on Monday, August 12.

Police say a silver Ford Falcon station wagon was travelling north and a white Nissan Patrol struck it on the left-hand rear panel when it was merging from two lanes into one.

"As the Nissan continued to ram the Ford, an item being carried on the roof racks came loose and struck the rear window of the Ford, breaking it," police said in a statement.

"The driver of the Nissan stopped, however did not exchange any details."

Police want to talk to anyone who saw the incident, or who may have dash-cam footage from around that time. They are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website, quoting reference 7823917.
