The Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers had agreed to terms on a trade that would have put All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk in the brown and orange.
There is just one problem: Aiyuk squashed it.
Without a desire to play in Cleveland, Aiyuk reportedly showed no interest in committing long-term to the Browns if a trade were to go through. This is something that I first reported earlier in the week.
fwiw I was told on Saturday that Aiyuk told the Browns he wouldn't sign an extension in Cleveland if they traded for him.

ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio states that the Browns have pulled out. Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz reiterated the same as the team now believes they are not likely to change Aiyuk’s mind.
Florio wrote, “The Browns are out, even though they wanted to be in. The problem was that Aiyuk didn’t want to be in Cleveland.” It has been rumored that the Browns offered the Niners Amari Cooper in the last year of his contract, a second round pick, and a fifth round pick for Aiyuk.
For now, the Browns’ search for a long-term top wide receiver beyond the 2024 season. Could CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys be their next target?
