The 49ers’ practice report from Thursday’s session didn’t come with a lot of good news for San Francisco.
Every player that missed Wednesday’s practice also missed Thursday’s, and wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud, who was limited Wednesday, was a non-participant Thursday.
Here’s every player who didn’t practice:
DT Arik Armstead (foot, knee)
G Spencer Burford (knee)
TE Ross Dwelley (ankle)
CB Darrell Luter (hamstring)
WR Ray-Ray McCloud (rib)
RB Elijah Mitchell (knee)
It initially sounded like Burford would have a chance to play Sunday, and that Mitchell’s knee issue was just some soreness from the Eagles game. That neither player was in action at all Thursday isn’t a great sign for their availability in Week 14.
Williams’ second rest day is atypical, though not super surprising given how late in the year it is and that he’s already dealt with injury issues.
Friday will give a better indication about player availability through the practice report and the Week 14 injury report. Early signs aren’t great though and it looks like San Francisco will be without a slew of contributors when they host the Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday.
Update
Williams did not get a second rest day. His veteran rest day on the participation reported was a clerical error per ESPN’s Nick Wagoner.
