The 49ers’ list of Week 2 inactives doesn’t look much different than the Week 1 inactives. That’s one of the perks of having a healthy team – the decisions on who to play or not become a lot easier.
However, three players will be active Sunday who are making their NFL debuts. Here’s who won’t suit up for the 49ers’ Week 2 showdown with the Rams at SoFi Stadium:
Buy 49ers TicketsQB Brandon Allen (third QB)
OL Nick Zakelj
DL Kalia Davis
LB Jalen Graham
RB Ty Davis-Price
Debuting for San Francisco will be tight end Brayden Willis, linebacker Dee Winters and cornerback Tre Swilling, who was elevated from the practice squad when CB Samuel Womack went on IR with a knee injury.
Winters and Willis were both inactive last week. Swilling spent that week on the practice squad.
This could have something to do with the 49ers’ poor special teams play in Week 1 when the Steelers had a ton of success in the return game. Both Willis and Winters played plenty on special teams in the preseason.
With Willis specifically the club may have something in store for him on offense based on what they saw while game planning for the week.
It’s more likely all three players will primarily contribute on special teams though in what should be their NFL debuts.
