The San Francisco 49ers and the Las Vegas Raiders played to a 24-24 tie in their preseason matchup on Friday night. Brock Purdy led the 49ers with an efficient performance, completing 9 of 12 passes for 96 yards, but also threw a red-zone interception. The game saw Daniel Carlson's 43-yard field goal with 16 seconds left, pulling the Raiders even with the 49ers.

Both teams took different approaches to the game as the regular season looms. The 49ers played most of their starters in the first quarter, while the Raiders gave playing time to backups vying for roster spots.

Raiders' quarterback Nathan Peterman, who unexpectedly started the game, completed 12 of 19 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown in the first half. Carter Bradley, who came in later, led the tying drive and finished with 169 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

Tyreik McAllister of the Raiders made an impact with an 81-yard punt return for a touchdown and a 35-yard TD reception. On the 49ers' side, key players like Deebo Samuel and George Kittle made their preseason debuts, with Kittle showcasing his skills with three catches for 34 yards.

Not all 49ers starters played, with notable absences including Christian McCaffrey, Trent Williams, and Brandon Aiyuk due to various reasons. Aiyuk, despite being in a contract dispute, was present at the stadium and interacted with the coaching staff.

The game also saw injuries, with 49ers' defensive ends Yetur Gross-Matos and Leonard Floyd leaving with knee injuries in the first quarter.

Looking ahead, the 49ers will host the New York Jets on September 9 to kick off the season, while the Raiders will visit the Los Angeles Chargers on September 8.
