The 49ers on Wednesday announced the addition of undrafted Eastern Carolina wide receiver Isaiah Winstead to their roster. Winstead is the 12th UDFA to join the club.
He played a ton of football across his five college seasons that included two-year stints at Norfolk State and Toledo before finishing his eligibility with one season at ECU.
Last year with the Pirates was Winstead’s most prolific season by a wide margin. He posted 88 catches for 1,085 yards and six touchdowns in 2022. In the four seasons prior to that he had 146 catches for 1,926 yards and 12 touchdowns.
At 6-3, 210 pounds he offers intriguing size in a now-crowded WR room. Winstead is the second undrafted rookie WR added by San Francisco this year, joining Tulane’s Shae Wyatt.
