With two days to go until the first Sunday of the NFL season kicks off, we’re beginning to have a clearer picture of how the betting public views certain teams heading in their openers.
Chiefs at Cardinals has been the most bet on game for Week 1 and the public is fading Arizona hard, showing us just how much they respect the Chiefs (or how little they think of the Cardinals in relation to them). Either way, mass bets on the Chiefs have pushed that line from -3 at opening to -6 as of Friday. And that’s not even the biggest movement in Week 1.
The biggest movement since lines opened belongs to the Carolina Panthers, who went from sizable 4.5-point underdogs to being favored by 1.5 points. It’s a swing easy to understand after a suspension was finally handed down to the Browns new starting quarterback … and the Panthers traded for their old starter.

Baker Mayfield’s revenge game is just one of four matchups where lines moved at least two points, including Chiefs-Cardinals, Ravens-Jets and Broncos-Seahawks.
The Ravens went from 4.5-point favorites to seven-point favorites and the Broncos moved from -4.5 to -6.5. Browns-Panthers is the only matchup so far where the favorite has changed since opening.
