3T's new Racemax Boost Italia Integrale could be the lightest electric gravel bike ever

3T Racemax Boost Italia Integrale.

3T started manufacturing their premium-level Exploro RaceMax Italia frames in Italy back in 2021, where they use proprietary in-house Filament Winding and RTM resin injection technology. The bike recently got an Integrale update which added internal routing to make it more aero.

Following this update, 3T has now announced the Racemax Boost Italia Integrale, an electric gravel bike version of their fastest gravel bike.

3T released the first Exploro RaceMax Boost a few years ago but the new Racemax Boost Italia Integrale is manufactured in the same production facility as the Exploro RaceMax Italia in the 3T headquarters. In its lightest "Project X" spec, the Racemax Boost Italia Integrale has an impressive sub-11kg claimed weight (size 54 without pedals).

Its sub-11kg weight makes it one of the lightest electric gravel bikes around and as far as we know is considerably lighter than any other electric gravel bike. 3T has achieved this by producing electric frame weighing in at 1000g (unpainted, +/- 3 percent), the Project X frame keeps weight as low as possible with an unpainted nude carbon finish.

In comparison, even Pinarello's TQ equipped Nytro Road E9 electric road bike, which was touted as the ‘lightest e-bike of its kind’ on its release, weighs 11.4kg in a size 53cm.

The bike is fitted with a Mahle X-20 system which delivers 55Nm of power, and is claimed to be the lightest e-bike rear hub drive unit with a weight of 3.2kg. This is powered by a 236 Wh battery which 3T says will allow an average rider (below 75kg) to cover 100 km and 1500 m of elevation with support on a hilly, fast gravel or paved route, with a speed limit of 25 km/h in the EU. An extender battery can be added and mounted under the downtube.

The Italian-produced frameset is claimed to be nine percent stiffer at the bottom bracket and an engineered headtube stiffness-to-compliance ratio is claimed to be 20 percent faster, although we aren't sure how 3T corilates stiffness-to-compliance to speed.

The new Racemax Boost Italia also gets the Integrale internal cable routing using the new Integrale stem with More internal routing allowing easy changes to stem height and length without having to cut and replace brake cables.

The Racemax Boost Italia is available in limited quantities, starting today. Bikes start at €7,376 / £6,877 (VAT excluded) in Europe and Asia and $9,899 / $13,099CA (VAT excluded, taxes included in America) with the Ardesia model, which is specced with SRAM Rival XPLR 1x12, carbon 3T 45 | 40 LTD “super-wide” rims.

The “Project X” Superlight bike specced with SRAM Red AXS 1x12, carbon 3T 45 | 40 LTD “super-wide” rims, 3T Torno crank, and San Marco 3D printed carbon saddles is priced €10,655 / £9,926 (VAT excluded) in Europe and Asia and $14,399 / $18,999CA (VAT excluded, taxes included in America).
