Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority launched the largest shopping festival, Outlet 2022, in Riyadh on Saturday.
Covering an area of 146,623 square meters, the festival includes three million items, manufactured by more than 1,500 international brands, and discounts of up to 70 percent on fashion, accessories, and cosmetic products designed by international experts.
The event, which will conclude on October 14, has won the Guinness World Records recognition as the largest pop-outlet center.
Bassam al-Mutary, one of the festival's visitors, told Asharq Al-Awsat that he is happy to attend such an event;
Having most of the international brands in one place is an opportunity to shop at reasonable prices and high quality, al-Mutary told Asharq Al-Awsat.
The event is also distinguished by the numerous Saudi brands, which have good quality, and designs that are made in line with the Saudi heritage.
Noura al-Zaidi, who was shopping from a Saudi store, said local brands should be given the chance to thrive, especially that they are distinguished by their high quality and distinctive designs derived from Saudi culture.
The outlet markets, or stores in which companies, manufacturers and brands offer their products and goods directly to the public at discounted prices, have been very popular in recent years.
