37 countries now confirmed to be heading to Liverpool for Eurovision

These are the 37 countries confirmed to be heading to Liverpool for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) released this year's line up which consists of 37 countries that will make the travel to Liverpool. Applicants had until mid-October to confirm their spot in the competition but several pulled out just before the deadline.

"The Big Six" automatically qualify every year and are comprised of the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy and Germany along with the previous winner, who in this instance is Ukraine. 31 countries will be joining them as they battle it out in the semi-finals before Saturday's grand final.

The remaining 31 competing countries are Albania, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic and Denmark. Alongside them are Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel and Latvia.

The remaining countries are Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland.

Missing from this year's line up are Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro. All three have cited cost issues as their reason for pulling out as the show has become "too expensive."
