DEHRADUN: Around three dozen inmates of Haridwar jail were isolated after they tested positive for Covid-19. Their samples were collected to find out if they were infected with Hepatitis B. However, the tests showed Covid-19 infection. The health department has said that they would be kept in isolation for a week as a precautionary measure. Incidentally, these infections didn't reflect in the daily Covid bulletin which showed only 17 new positive cases from Haridwar.
TOI tried to connect Kumar Khagendra Singh, the chief medical officer of Haridwar, on the issue. However, he didn't respond despite repeated calls and messages.
