36 Australian Open Outfits Ready To Game, Set & Match Morgan Riddle’s Courtside Style

Australia’s first major fashion event of 2026 is here: the Australian Open. Okay, it’s more of a sporting thing, but the fashion element has skyrocketed in recent years thanks to our favourite T-WAGS (tennis wives and girlfriends) including Morgan Riddle, Paige Lorenze, Ayan Broomfield, and Costeen Hatzi.

These days, style-forward spectators flock to Melbourne Park to watch their favourite players in the first Grand Slam tournament of the year in outfits that have the potential to land them in Vogue. And who can blame them? Dressing up is part of the fun of the day.

Whether you live for the preppy aesthetic or prefer to keep it easy breezy, we’ve rounded up the best pieces to help you look courtside chic. Hey, maybe one of the single tennis players will spot you from the crowd and court you (ha, get it?) into becoming their WAG, straight out of a movie? A girl can dream!

Is There A Dress Code For The Australian Open?

While the Australian Open isn’t as strict as some of the other Grand Slam tournaments (e.g. Wimbledon), it does have a dress code you’ve gotta follow if you don’t want to be turned away at the door. This means no thongs, singlets, ripped jeans (or other ripped clothing), or sports shorts. So while thongs are having a moment RN, you’ll have to save them for another day.

36 Pieces To Wear To The Australian Open 2026

Summer Dresses

When you’re spending the day walking around Melbourne Park and watching matches in the heat, nothing beats a lightweight, flowy dress. From cutesy minis to elegant maxis

Preppy Chic

When it comes to the tennis, the preppy aesthetic is the signature WAG look. Pleated skirts, a cable-knit sweater thrown effortlessly over the shoulders and a button-up shirt is an ode to the tennis players on the court without looking like you’re dressing up in costume.

Tailored

Heading to a night game right after a day at the office? Tailoring is always a safe bet if you’re struggling to find an outfit to wear, and we’ve found a bunch of summer options.

Comfortable Shoes

DO NOT WEAR HEELS! As a regular attendee of the Australian Open, I cannot stress it enough. Although it’s tempting to get your summer heels out, you’ll regret it pretty damn quick when you realise just how much walking the day involves (I average 20,000 steps each time I go). Comfort is the top priority — and there are shoes out there that can give you the best of both worlds.

Sun Safe Accessories

Bringing along accessories to protect you from the sun is an absolute non-negotiable. Besides, there’s nothing worse than rocking up to your seat in the arena, only to find the sun beaming down, right into your eyes.

Bags That Fit The Brief

The last piece you need to nail the Australian Open outfit is a trusty bag. You’ll want one that’s roomy enough to carry the essentials you’ll need throughout the day, but also need to be conscious that “any item or bag… too large to fit under a seat” won’t be allowed inside Melbourne Park. From cute hand bags to spacious totes, we’ve found it all.

At the end of the day, wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable and confident, and use these as a source of inspo if you get stuck!
