A YouGov survey published in 2025 found that 32% of Britons believe extraterrestrials have already visited Earth, while around three-quarters of respondents said they believe intelligent life exists somewhere else in the universe. The findings highlight how interest in UFOs—now more commonly referred to as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs)—has become a mainstream topic rather than a fringe belief.
Although scientists have found no verified evidence that extraterrestrial beings have visited Earth, public fascination has continued to grow, fuelled by decades of unexplained sightings, government investigations, popular culture and advances in space exploration.
