A 31-year-old NYPD officer and mother of three died in the Dominican Republic after reportedly suffering complications following recent cosmetic surgery, according to local reports and New York officials.
Rebecca DePaula, who was off duty at the time of her death, had been with the New York Police Department for only 18 months. She worked at the 46th Precinct in Fordham, Bronx, and had recently been recognized for her work as the precinct's “officer of the month.”
