Thirty one asylum-seekers who have had their applications rejected have been expelled so far this year.
A further 507 were issued with deportation orders but officials do not know whether they have left yet.
Figures for the past five years up until June 16, show 5,150 deportation notices were issued by the state against those refused asylum.
The authorities say they have confirmation that 790 left the state during the time.

The busiest year for deportation notices was 2019 when 2,295 were issued. Only 33 were issued at the height of the Covid pandemic in 2021.
Reacting to the figures the Justice Minister Helen McEntee said: ”The deportation and removal processes are an essential part of any immigration system.
“It must be acknowledged that those who do not have a legal right to remain in this country must remove themselves from the State.”
