Signing defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson was a positive step for the Cleveland Browns in turning around their run defense and defensive line play. But the team still has long-term and short-term depth questions they need to answer at the position. If the Browns want to look for more run-stuffing players with pass-rush upside in the 2023 NFL Draft, Jerrod Clark is an excellent day-three option in the draft.
Clark comes in at 6-foot-4 and 334 pounds and plays with a tremendous motor playing through the whistle on every snap. He has a ton of raw power and with his long arms, the tools for an impact player are there. He understands his assignments and maintains his gap integrity while anchoring the middle against the run.
He needs refinement on his technique and hand placement but he has a quick first step and if developed could turn into a three-down player at the next level. It will be a big jump from a smaller school but if you are betting on a player with traits in the draft Clark would be a prime candidate.
