The makeover for the Cleveland Browns defense has begun with a solid free agency period with the 2023 NFL Draft a few weeks from now. Adding a versatile player like Jammie Robinson could be a great way to wrap up the off-season additions. Robinson played most of his snaps as a deep free safety last year but also logged 252 snaps in the box and 167 snaps as a slot defender.
The team doesn’t have a true slot and just one true deep free safety on the roster and Robinson could help fill both roster holes. A player that plays with a high motor Robinson is a reliable tackler in both run defense and the passing game.
A good athlete Robinson uses his athleticism and high football IQ to be an impact player in run defense and against the short passing game. He is at his best in the box closer to the line of scrimmage but his ability to be a Swiss army knife is something Andrew Berry covets.
