Nvidia, Intel and Monolithic Power were the top three S&P 500 index gainers on the stock market today. Epam Systems, Nielsen Holdings and Occidental Petroleum were the S&P 500's biggest losers on Thursday.
NVDA stock surged 9.8% 281.50, a two-month high and clearing some resistance levels. IBD Leaderboard added to its Nvidia stock position Thursday.
Intel stock jumped 6.9% to 51.62, reclaiming its 50-day moving average for the first time since late January.
MPWR stock popped 6.7% to 494.62, rebounding from its 200-day line and clearing its mid-February high of 490.80. Aggressive traders could have used that as an entry. Power-management specialist Monolithic Power is on IBD Long-Term Leaders.
S&P 500 Losers
EPAM stock fell 6.1% to 287.84. Epam Systems, an IT outsourcing firm with a lot of staff in Ukraine and Belarus, has seen huge swings during Russia's Ukraine invasion.
NLSN stock sank 3.8% to 22.35. Nielsen Holdings has been been volatile as the market measurement specialist has been in buyout discussions.
OXY stock fell 3.5% to 57.75 after hitting its highest level in nearly three years on Monday. Occidental Petroleum stock has doubled in 2022.
