Carnival and fellow cruise line operators Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean were the top three S&P 500 index gainers on the stock market today. Advanced Micro Devices, Etsy and PVH were the S&P 500's biggest losers on Thursday.
CCL stock rose 3.2% to 20.22, reclaiming its 50-day line but still below its 200-day. The CDC has lifted its travel advisory on cruise lines, while travel stocks generally rose Thursday and over the past couple of weeks.
NCLH stock gained 3.1% to 21.88, trading between its 50-day and 200-day averages.
RCL stock rose 2.8% to 83.76 after retaking its 50-day and 200-day lines earlier in the week.
S&P 500 Losers
AMD stock dived 8.3% to 109.36, breaking back below the 50-day and 200-day moving averages. Barclays downgraded AMD stock on Thursday, citing expected pressure from rivals in PC and gaming chips next year.
ETSY stock sank 7.6% to 124.28, after tumbling 5.85% on Wednesday. The arts & crafts e-commerce site is approaching its recent lows.
PVH stock declined 7.35% 76.61. On Wednesday, the apparel maker tumbled 6.5%, leading the downside on the S&P 500 indexes, after its latest quarterly earnings report.
