Looking for Prime Video movies to watch this weekend? You’re in the right spot, as I’ve combed through the Amazon-owned streaming service’s March 2026 slate and picked out a trio of additions added in the last two weeks that you might want to consider adding to your weekend watchlist.
Variety was my primary focus here, and each of these movies should appeal to a different type of viewer. Whether you want a feel-good movie that sees Tom Hanks play an American national treasure, or a tense horror-thriller that pits a young woman against a hungry shark, or a globe-trotting action-thriller set in the world of shadowy organizations and super spies.
These are the three new to Prime Video movies you should stream this weekend. Even if none are Oscar quality, each one makes a case for itself.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)
On paper, Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers seems like utterly perfect casting, and so it proves to be in “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.” The beloved television presenter, who taught multiple generations of children how to be kind, is revered by millions, and Hanks' portrayal does the real-life man justice. The movie around this strong performance is a little less noteworthy, but Hanks as Fred Rogers is pretty much all you need to watch until the end.
The setup is simple: Lloyd Vogel (Matthew Rhys) is a cynical journalist, assigned to profile Mr. Rogers. He approaches this task with a desire to prove that Mr. Rogers’ unwavering good nature is an act. However, the presenter's big-hearted empathy, kindness and decency soon have Vogel reconsidering his stance, and the two form an unlikely yet powerful friendship.

The Shallows (2016)
It’s certainly no cinematic masterpiece on the level of “Jaws,” but “The Shallows” is an exciting and intense shark thriller that will have you second-guessing diving into the ocean the next time you visit the beach. As with many modern horror-thrillers, its toothy scares are really a vehicle for exploring trauma, and Blake Lively is equipped to handle a character who is battling not just a circling great white but also a more personal struggle.
Still reeling from the recent death of her mother, Nancy (Lively) travels to a secluded beach in Mexico, a picturesque place that holds special significance for the medical student. While catching the final waves of the day, a shark knocks Nancy off her board and she takes refuge on a small, isolated rock around 200 yards from the shore. The beach and safety are within sight, but Nancy faces one heck of an ordeal if she’s going to make it back to dry land.

Shadow Force (2025)
Prime Video viewers looking for a dose of action excitement this weekend might want to consider “Shadow Force.” Setting realistic expectations is important with this one; according to many critics, it is no masterpiece (it holds a weak 30% score on Rotten Tomatoes), but if you’re just after uncomplicated carnage, you might be able to have fun with this flawed flick. Overall, viewers are more impressed, rating it a much stronger 82% on RT.
Kyrah Owens (Kerry Washington) and Issac Sarr (Omar Sy) were once members of a special ops team, known as Shadow Force. After falling in love and having a child, they retired from the service to live a peaceful, ordinary life. However, the team’s handler, Jack Cinder (Mark Strong), isn’t about to lose two of his best agents so easily, and dispatches the remaining forces to kill them. But naturally, Kyrah and Issac are prepared to fight back.
