3 new to Paramount+ shows you need to binge-watch this weekend (April 10-12)

Paramount Plus logo on a magenta background.

Paramount+ is perfect for finding your weekend binge-watch. The streaming service has plenty of movies and live sports, but Paramount+ is an underrated streamer for watching shows. It is constantly adding new shows or new episodes; it just added 147 new movies and shows on April 1. And it's not just new original shows, either; the streamer also adds new shows from Paramount's networks, like CBS, as well as coproductions with international studios.

This weekend, I've got three shows worthy of your next binge session. "Matlock" is now deep into its second season, and it's worth checking out to see Kathy Bates' Emmy-nominated performance as the titular detective. "Marshals" is also now deep into its ongoing first season, and if you liked "Yellowstone," you'll want to check out its latest spin-off. Finally, if you're not ready for March Madness to be over, you can stream the first three episodes of the new docuseries "Made for March." Just don't expect it to cover the national championship game.

So without further ado, here are the three new to Paramount+ shows you need to binge-watch this weekend. If you need more recommendations, check out everything coming to Paramount+ in April 2026 for more options.

'Matlock' season 2

Genre: Legal drama

What's it about? Madeline Kingston (Kathy Bates) is a retired lawyer, but when she loses her daughter Ellie in the opioid epidemic, she decides to get back in the game. She adopts the persona of widow Madeline "Matty" Matlock, and gets hired at the law firm she thinks hid evidence that could have saved her daughter. She's helping them win cases, but secretly, she's looking for justice.

Why you should watch it: This is a perfectly serviceable legal drama that not only puts its own spin on the 1986 original, but actually exists in a world where Andy Griffith starred as Matlock in the beloved nine-season show. But while Bates' Madeline Kingston adopts the name Matlock because of the 1980s character, it's only Bates who has ever received an Emmy nomination for playing the iconic role.

'Marshals'

Genre: Neo-Western drama

What's it about? "Marshals" stars "Yellowstone" actor Luke Grimes, reprising his role as Kayce Dutton in this hybrid sequel/spin-off. The show follows the former U.S. Navy SEAL and rancher as he joins a specialized group of U.S. Marshals tasked with protecting the Montana wilderness.

Why you should watch it: Taylor Sheridan is sitting out this new "Yellowstone" spin-off, but many familiar faces are returning. Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty and Brecken Merrill all reprise their roles as Thomas Rainwater, Mo and Tate Dutton, so fans of the original series will have some characters they're already familiar with to latch onto.

'Made for March'

Genre: Sports docuseries

What's it about? "Made for March" follows the Kansas Jayhawks and Michigan Wolverines as they make their way through the 2025-2026 regular season and into March Madness. Both programs have one goal in mind: National Champions.

Why you should watch it: Kansas's March dreams turned into a nightmare, but Michigan's quest for a National Championship will still be alive through the first three episodes of this docuseries. The only catch? You'll already know if they won it all; the national championship game already took place this past Monday.
