3 new to Netflix shows you should binge-watch this weekend (April 3-5)

Picking something new to watch this weekend should be easy, yet it’s all too common to waste an hour scrolling with nothing to show for it. With endless options, Netflix keeps rolling out series so fast that great ones slip by unnoticed. If your watchlist needs an update, a few recent drops are truly worth your time.

This week brings a new season of a popular romantic drama set in high school, a tense action-thriller also returning with a fresh season, and a charming comedy-drama that tugs at the heartstrings while bringing some much-needed humor. To make things easier, here are the three shows to add to your watchlist this weekend.

‘XO, Kitty’

If you’re in the mood for a glossy, upbeat series packed with soapy teen drama, “XO, Kitty” should be on your binge-watch list, especially now that it’s dropped its third season. It’s also a solid pick for anyone missing the complicated love triangles and yearning of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” The mix of K-drama-style aesthetics, a Seoul setting, and both English and Korean dialogue makes this series all the more intriguing.

Season 3 of “XO, Kitty” follows Kitty Song-Covey (Anna Cathcart) as she returns to KISS in Seoul for her senior year, determined to complete her “Senior Sunset” list and lock in her future plans. After spending the summer apart from Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), tensions linger as their connection remains unresolved. Back at school, Kitty works through shifting friendships, Yuri’s (Gia Kim) new circumstances after losing her family’s wealth, and academic pressure as college decisions loom.

‘Bloodhounds’

Another show returning with a new season this week is “Bloodhounds,” a Korean action-thriller set in the brutal world of an underground international boxing league. The series is adapted from a popular webtoon and is marked by its sport‑focused pacing and choreography, anchored by strong performances from its lead actors, high‑impact fight scenes, and a distinctive take on competitive and criminal worlds intersecting in Seoul.

“Bloodhounds” season 2 follows Kim Geon-woo (Woo Do‑hwan) and Hong Woo-jin (Lee Sang‑yi) as they return to boxing after taking down the loan shark network. As Geon-woo pushes toward a championship career, a powerful new enemy emerges: Baek-jeong (Rain), a feared figure running an underground international boxing league. Drawn into this illegal fight circuit, the duo are targeted and forced into high-stakes matches that put their lives and loved ones in danger.

‘Happy’s Place’

Sometimes, all you need is an easy-watching show over the weekend, and “Happy’s Place” is the perfect pick for anyone seeking pure comfort material. This is a multi‑camera sitcom that originally aired on NBC, with episodes running around 20 minutes each, making it perfect for binge-watchers. It focuses on character interactions in a single, central location, with plenty of physical humor and recurring gags.

“Happy’s Place” is set primarily in a neighborhood tavern in Knoxville, Tennessee, and follows the staff and regulars who work and interact in the bar. The series features an ensemble cast including Bobbie (Reba McEntire), the co‑owner and manager; Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), Bobbie’s younger half‑sister and co‑owner; Gabby (Melissa Peterman), the longtime bartender; Emmett (Rex Linn), the soft‑spoken cook; and Steve (Pablo Castelblanco), the meticulous accountant.
